I ask this only because in pre searing, I've found about 4 silver dyes. Not a hint of black. I've also never found anything with the +higher than 5 energy mod, and now I found one with +10 -1regen.

Have they allowed spawns of better items in pre searing?
Or is it just me, seeing whats always been there just hardly ever spawning and it happening twice in a row?

I always find silver dyes in post-Searing, no black though...

+energy mods come in a few varieties:
On one-handed rods, wands, canes, truncheons, and deadly cestas, there are the +1 to +5 energy while hexed/enchanted/health is above 50%/health is below 50%.
Also on one-handers as well as offhands are +10 to +15 (not sure about the lower bound) with -1 energy regen.
Staves have up to +10 energy base modifiers, which is dependent on the staff requirement; if you have less than the requirement, you'll get pretty low energy.
Staves also can have Insightful Staff Head upgrades, which give +1 to +5 energy, which isn't dependent on requirement.
There's also that +5 energy sword which was nerfed in the update...

As for item drops, the best drops I've seen PvE are from SF right now

But other than that, pretty decent items drop in the desert and beyond.

i have seen 3 black dye drop in the catacombs in pre searing. all 3 times where in the area with all those lvl1 and lvl3 guys standing in a circle.

The last time I was bored and "power leveled" a toon in pre-searing just for kicks... I ended up with 12 dyes total, 2 silver and 1 black. None of the weapon drops stood out to me though, although I would agree they are of higher quality as well.

There are only two things worth farming in pre-searing, to the best of my knowledge:

1) Dyes, which have rather good drop rates since they fill in for better equipment
2) -2 energy foci, which can only be found in pre-searing.

I managed to find some pretty cool stuff in pre sear with my latest character ~ my collection included a lookalike crystalline sword and serpent axe, some of the rare style earth staffs and jeweled staffs and 2 black dyes + 3 silvers

yeah, i got the quest reward crystalline as well, 2 blacks, and i think once i found a 5-12 serpent axe which i kept for a WHILE.
